Liverpool 2-0 Stoke: Match Review

Liverpool enjoyed a 2-0 victory today at Anfield against Stoke, with Luis Suarez bagging a debut goal after being on the field for only 16 minutes.

The first half was dominated strongly by Liverpool, but with little clear cut chances, a few coming to Dirk Kuyt who failed to hit the back of the net.

Dalglish's half time team talk seemed to work, as Liverpool came out firing, and within 2 minutes of the 2nd half kick off, Gerrard hit a free kick which was deflected into the path of Kyrgiakos, who held possession long enough for Meireles to fire home, adding another goal to an impressive few games for the Reds.

With Liverpool impressing, Suarez replaces Fabio Aurelio on 62 minutes, and 16 minutes later he timed a run nicely and found himself 1 on 1 with the keeper, who he dribbled around and slotted home, relying on a little luck which he got when Wilkinson failed to clear off the line.

Comfortable performance and a good victory, taking our record to 3 consecutive wins and clean sheets.
